Baseball Game Preview: Archbishop Hoban Knights vs. Louisville Leopards

The Archbishop Hoban Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Louisville Leopards at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Archbishop Hoban's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Louisville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Archbishop Hoban is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Hiland just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Knights have suffered since May 21, 2024.

Meanwhile, Louisville came up short against Canton Central Catholic on Wednesday and fell 8-4.

Louisville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brock Leghart, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Louisville's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-7. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 2.57 runs. As for Archbishop Hoban, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Archbishop Hoban was able to grind out a solid win over Louisville when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
