Softball Recap: Carlin Sets Scoring Season-High Against Coleville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carlin). They were the clear victors by a 31-20 margin over the Coleville Wolves on Saturday. The Railroaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Carlin got a massive performance out of Adian Adams, who scored six runs and stole three bases while going 7-for-7. With that strong performance, Adams is now averaging an impressive 2.4 runs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayona Christensen, who scored five runs and stole four bases while getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances.

Carlin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .673. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .467 that Coleville posted.

Carlin's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4. As for Coleville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlin will square off against Eureka at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coleville, they will venture away from home to take on Wells at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Leopards will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight.
