Basketball Game Preview: Norland Vikings vs. Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs

The Norland Vikings will be taking part in a tournament against the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday. Norland is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Norland saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to South Broward.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Gibbons was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 51-47 to Bishop Verot. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Vikings are ranked 78th).

Norland's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Norland strolled past Cardinal Gibbons in their previous matchup back in December of 2020 by a score of 45-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Norland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
