Basketball Recap: Windsor Central Comes Up Short

Windsor Central had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 6-7 to make it six. They had to suffer through a 73-37 loss at the hands of the Seton Catholic Central Saints. While losing is never fun, the Black Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while the Saints are ranked 18th).

As for Seton Catholic Central, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Seton Catholic Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brian Dempsey, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Dempsey has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Allan Eagles was another key player, shooting 60% from the field en route to 17 points in addition to five boards and three blocks.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windsor Central will square off against Norwich at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Seton Catholic Central, they will face off against Chenango Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
