Recap: South Windsor Bobcats vs. Platt Panthers

After a string of five wins, The South Windsor Bobcats''s good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Platt by a score of 21-19. South Windsor gained 117 more yards on the day, but it was Platt that made the best of use of them.

South Windsor's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mitch Chaves, who rushed for 15 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 228 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Joey Bemis, who picked up 143 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Joel Rey was a one-man wrecking crew for Platt as he rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Rey hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.

South Windsor's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Platt, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Windsor will face off against Avon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Platt, they will head out on the road to face off against Farmington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
