Softball Recap: Bishop Ireton Takes a Loss

Bishop Ireton lost against Bishop O'Connell back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cardinals came up short against the Knights, falling 11-2. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caroline Dick was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Bishop Ireton's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Bishop O'Connell, the win keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

Coming up, Bishop Ireton will square off against The Academy of the Holy Cross at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals are facing the Tartans at the right time seeing as the Tartans are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bishop O'Connell, they will face off against Bishop McNamara at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
