After a string of three wins, Waterloo's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Wayne County Wildcats by a score of 9-8.

Claire Cooper and Clara Lambert stepped up to the plate in a big way. Cooper scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Lambert scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Sarah Allen, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI.

Waterloo's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Wayne County, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Waterloo will welcome Belmont at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wayne County, they will take on Collinwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
