Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Springfield Southeast). They put the hurt on the Calvary Saints with a sharp 15-3 win on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
B Pittman spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, B Twist was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Springfield Southeast's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of C Murphy, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
