North Medford faced Roseburg in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Black Tornado put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 10-3 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Black Tornado needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Macen Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, Jake Payton and Colton Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Payton went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double, while Miller went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Miller has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Cade Pettersen, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

North Medford's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Roseburg, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.

Looking ahead, North Medford will face off against Sheldon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roseburg, they will take on West Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
