After a string of six wins, Ridgefield's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 3-1 to the Tumwater Thunderbirds. The Spudders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 20-25, 25-15, 25-14.

Tumwater got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lalie Betschart out in front who had 22 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Betschart has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Milani Palizzi, who had nine digs and three aces.

Ridgefield's loss dropped their record down to 14-7-1. As for Tumwater, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2-2 record this season.

Ridgefield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tumwater, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Columbia River on the 8th.
