Bloom is 0-4 against Andrew since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Blazing Trojan will take on the Thunderbolts at 4:30 p.m. Bloom knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Andrew likes a good challenge.
On Monday, Bloom made easy work of Thornton and carried off a 17-3 win. The Blazing Trojan might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Dan Williams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bloom is undefeated when Williams allows one or fewer hits, but 10-11 otherwise. Williams was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Trevion Franklin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Bloom got a massive performance out of Mateo Munoz, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three doubles gave Munoz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Christian Mendoza, who went 2-for-5 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Bloom kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Andrew faced Lincoln-Way Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Thunderbolts lost 8-2 to the Knights. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Thunderbolts who fell 2-0 when the teams previously met back in April of 2024.
Bloom is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Andrew, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-9.
Bloom suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Andrew when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Blazing Trojan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
