Baseball Game Preview: Out-of-Door Academy Thunder vs. Community School of Naples Seahawks

The Out-of-Door Academy Thunder will face off against the Community School of Naples Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Out-of-Door Academy 3.9, Community School of Naples 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Out-of-Door Academy was handed a nine-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over IMG Academy Gold.

Meanwhile, Community School of Naples waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the King's.

Ryder Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Renteria, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Brendan Walsh, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Community School of Naples was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwest Florida Christian only posted a batting average of .214.

Community School of Naples' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Out-of-Door Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Out-of-Door Academy took their victory against Community School of Naples in their previous meeting back in March of 2021 by a conclusive 16-3. Does Out-of-Door Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Community School of Naples turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
