            Softball Recap: Mater Academy Charter Lions vs. Miami Beach Hi-Tides        
        
		
        
        
            Mater Academy Charter had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but  on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-10 to make it seven. They came up short against  the Miami Beach Hi-Tides, falling  18-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hi-Tides this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  18-0  back in March.
As for Miami Beach, their record now sits at 12-5. Considering they have won 11 matches by more than five  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
For Miami Beach's part,  Maricela Mesarina made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out seven batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   one  hit. Mesarina has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Violet Badran was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles. Another player making a difference was  Rebecca Baldi, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI.
As of now, neither Mater Academy Charter nor Miami Beach have any future games scheduled.
