Princeton came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Hoover Huskies as they made off with a 66-45 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.
Carley Hurt had an outrageously good game as she went 6-for-13 en route to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most boards she has posted since back in February of 2024. Asia Collins was another key player, shooting 55% from the field on her way to 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Princeton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in ten consecutive games.
Despite the defeat, Hoover saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bella Haas went 6-for-12 to rack up 16 points. Another player making a difference was Ayva Veltri, who scored 17 points.
Princeton's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. As for Hoover, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
Princeton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-33 defeat against Woodrow Wilson on the 24th. As for Hoover, they have also already played their next matchup, a 68-41 loss against Nitro on the 26th.
