Volleyball Recap: Shawnee Mission West Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the St. James Academy Thunder. The Vikings were not able to make up for their loss to the Thunder from their previous meeting back in October of 2021.

St. James Academy can attribute much of their success to Catelynn Conrad, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Shawnee Mission West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15-2. As for St. James Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Shawnee Mission West will challenge Olathe North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. James Academy, they will face off against Blue Valley Northwest on Saturday.
