Floyd Central is 8-2 against Columbus East since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Highlanders will be playing at home against the Olympians at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Things were looking good for Floyd Central after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of New Albany by a score of 5-4.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Columbus East and Jeffersonville, and Jeffersonville kept the tradition alive. The Olympians took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Devils on Monday.

Emmitt Harden made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Logan Warren was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Floyd Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Columbus East, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-14.

Floyd Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Columbus East in their previous matchup back in April, winning 5-0. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Olympians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
