Game recap: Saginaw High School Football Team defeats Carter-Riverside

SAGINAW, Texas - Saginaw (Texas) jumped out to an early lead against Carter-Riverside (Fort Worth, Texas) and never looked back on the way to a 54-7 victory on Saturday.

The Rough Riders scored seven points in the first quarter. Saginaw scored on a Jaylen King touchdown run.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by King in the first quarter, SHS led 33-0 at the half.

The Rough Riders grew their lead to 47 points entering the fourth quarter. Saginaw scored three times in the third, including once on a passing touchdown.

Carter-Riverside's lone touchdown came on a run in the third quarter.



The win was a nice bounce back for SHS, which lost to Creekview last week, 50-19. The loss was the third in a row for the Eagles. The victory snapped Saginaw's two-game losing streak.

In a 4A Region I District 6 game next week Saginaw (1-2) takes on North Side, and Carter-Riverside (0-3) will go up against Chisholm Trail also in a 4A Region I District 6 game.
