Softball Game Preview: Bay Rockets vs. Valley Forge Patriots

Bay is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Valley Forge a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Bay Rockets will host the Valley Forge Patriots at 5:00 p.m. Bay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Bay turned things around against Normandy on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Invaders by a score of 5-2.

Katie Sommers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lizzie McFarland, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Maeve McFarland, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Valley Forge's offense. They came up short against Rocky River on Tuesday, falling 14-0.

Valley Forge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Bay took their win against Valley Forge when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 20-7 score. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
