Basketball Game Preview: Jordan-Matthews Jets vs. Seaforth Hawks

Jordan-Matthews is 0-8 against Seaforth since January of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Jordan-Matthews Jets will head out to take on the Seaforth Hawks at 6:00 p.m.

Jordan-Matthews is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-32 heartbreaker at the hands of Graham.

The losing side was boosted by Kelsey Morris, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy Graves, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Seaforth on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Graham out of the water with a 64-30 final score. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Jordan-Matthews better focus on containing Gabrielle White and Katherine Leonard as the pair were huge in Seaforth's win. White dropped a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds, while Leonard went 9-for-16 on her way to 22 points in addition to six assists and five steals. White has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Mia Moore was another key player, putting up eight points.

Seaforth smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Seaforth and bumps their season record up to 21-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.0 points over those games. As for Jordan-Matthews, their loss dropped their record down to 4-19.

Jordan-Matthews was dealt a bruising 53-14 defeat at the hands of Seaforth when the teams last played on Tuesday. Can Jordan-Matthews avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
