Football Game Recap: Monterey vs. Gordonsville

If Monterey were riding high off their 23-0 takedown of Jackson County last Friday, that ride came to an abrupt end. It was close but no cigar for Monterey as they fell 27-29 to Gordonsville on Friday. If Monterey were hoping to take revenge for the 0-32 loss against Gordonsville the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed.

The defeat dropped Monterey's record to 2-5. The victory bumped Gordonsville's record up to 4-2.

Monterey will have some time to rest before their next game, which is against Pickett County in two weeks at 7:00 PM. Gordonsville will look to defend their home turf next week against Pickett County at 7:00 PM. Gordonsville will be strutting in after a win while Pickett County will be stumbling in from a loss.
