Recap: Watson Chapel Wildcats vs. Maumelle Hornets
This season hasn't been kind to The Watson Chapel Wildcats, who are still winless after their ninth match. They had to suffer through a rough 56-14 loss at the hands of Maumelle. Watson Chapel has struggled against Maumelle recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Maumelle to victory were Joe Mason and Elijah Newell. Mason rushed for 46 yards and two touchdowns, while Newell rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Karsten Hilliard made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Watson Chapel's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9-1. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.8 points per game. As for Maumelle, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-3.
Watson Chapel will challenge Beebe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maumelle, they will be playing at home against Vilonia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
