Baseball Recap: Cascade Beats Danville for Their Sixth Straight Win

Cascade barely beat Danville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cadets blew past the Warriors 20-8 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Toby Savini was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was TJ Turner, who went 3-for-6 with three RBI and two runs.

Cascade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .646. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory (which was Cascade's sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Danville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

Looking ahead, Cascade will be playing in front of their home fans against Lebanon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.94 runs per game on average), something the Cadets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Danville, they will challenge South Vermillion at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
