Basketball Preview: Morgan Trojans vs. South Summit Wildcats
Morgan has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the South Summit Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Morgan pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Union. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (55), Morgan still had to take the loss.
South Summit has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell just short of Grantsville by a score of 56-53. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as South Summit came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Cowboys are ranked 95th).
Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for South Summit, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-3.
Morgan didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Wildcats when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 59-55 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morgan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
