PEARL, Miss. -
Pearl (Miss.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring seven in the fourth quarter to seal a 41-17 victory over
Mendenhall (Miss.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown catch by
Demorrious Brown in the first quarter, the Pirates led 27-10 at the half.
Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and at the beginning of the fourth it was still a 17 point game.
Jordan Wright and
Ledarius Carpenter ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Tigers. Wright scored three touchdowns on the ground and Carpenter added two as well.
The loss was the fourth in a row for Mendenhall.
In a non-conference game next week Pearl (3-1) takes on Bastrop, and Mendenhall (0-4) will go up against Laurel also in a non-conference game.
