Softball Game Preview: Riverton Parke Panthers vs. Parke Heritage Wolves

For the second straight game, Riverton Parke will face off against Parke Heritage. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riverton Parke has 11 straight wins, Parke Heritage has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Riverton Parke beat Parke Heritage 4-1.

Madison Coonce spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Haylee Mathas was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

Riverton Parke's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Parke Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
