Basketball Recap: Christian Brothers Comes Up Short

Christian Brothers suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Monday. They came up short against the Inderkum Tigers, falling 85-60. The Falcons have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Christian Brothers still got an impressive performance from Stephan Hewitt, who posted 23 points and five boards. Hewitt is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last seven games he's played. Daniel Powers was another key player, putting up six points and six assists.

Malachi Johnson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds for Inderkum. Those 28 points gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeden Goodman, who went 7 for 12 en route to 16 points in addition to five boards and three blocks.

Christian Brothers' loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Inderkum, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Christian Brothers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 76-51 win against Vista del Lago on the 29th. As for Inderkum, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-60 victory against Weston Ranch on the 28th.
