Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Mountaineers vs. Branson Pirates
After flying high against Seneca last Tuesday, Mt. Vernon came back down to earth. The Mt. Vernon Mountaineers fell just short of the Branson Pirates by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Mountaineers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Mt. Vernon wouldn't go down easily and took Branson into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-12, 25-21, 18-25, 15-7.
Mt. Vernon's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-12-2. As for Branson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-8-4.
As of now, neither Mt. Vernon nor Branson have any future games scheduled.
