Basketball Recap: Prairie Ridge Takes a Loss

Prairie Ridge lost against Central back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Prairie Ridge Wolves took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Rockets. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Rockets are ranked 87th).

Jacob Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Central, putting up 16 points along with seven boards and six assists. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Patrick Magan, who posted ten points.

Prairie Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 10-18. As for Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prairie Ridge will host Cary-Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jacobs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jacobs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.
