Recap: Owens Valley Cubs vs. Lone Pine Golden Eagles

Sadly, the Owens Valley Cubs are still looking for their first win of the season after 11 matches. They were beaten by Lone Pine 64-15 on Tuesday. Owens Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-5.

Lone Pine was led to victory by Alfonso Castro and Cristian Duran. Castro dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Duran almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Duran pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Rodriguez, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Owens Valley dropped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Lone Pine, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Owens Valley will take on Lee Vining at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Owens Valley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Lone Pine, they will play host again and welcome Baker, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lone Pine has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 535 points over their last eight contests.
