Softball Recap: Bronson Eagles vs. Chiefland Indians
Bronson lost against Chiefland back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bronson Eagles suffered a tough 8-1 loss at the hands of the Chiefland Indians. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs Bronson has scored all season.
Bronson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brystal Howard, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Maci Thomas was another key contributor, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
On Chiefland's side, Mackenzie Fisher was incredible, going 3-for-3 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Evie Meeks, who went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for Bronson and nudges their season record down to 7-7. As for Chiefland, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bronson is on the road again on Thursday to play Hawthorne at 7:00 p.m. Bronson is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Chiefland, they will head out on the road to challenge Crystal River at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Crystal River's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Chiefland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
