Independence faced Beech in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles came out on top against the Buccaneers by a score of 12-8. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Independence pushed their record up to 24-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Beech, they moved to 25-17 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Independence will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Buccaneers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
