Baseball Recap: Ridgevue Takes Down Ranked Centennial

Ridgevue faced Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Warhawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Patriots a 4-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Warhawks: when they faced off against the Patriots on Friday, they had to take a 6-3 defeat.

Not much got past Jameson Deitz, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Centennial off the board. Deitz also tossed a walk, which is notable because Ridgevue is 5-2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elliot Jamison, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Ridgevue's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Centennial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-8 record this season.

Ridgevue has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Middleton on the 10th. Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
