Softball Game Preview: Berwick Bulldogs vs. Wyoming Area Warriors

The Berwick Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Wyoming Area Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Berwick is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Berwick is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 21 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Lake-Lehman on Thursday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost nine in a row.

Berwick saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Welsh, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Lake-Lehman hit Wyoming Area with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors lost 9-1 to the Knights. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wyoming Area's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Berwick, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Berwick beat Wyoming Area 5-0 when the teams last played on Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
