Softball Recap: Bowie Wins Going Away Against Mcleod

Bowie was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against McLeod on Friday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 11-1 victory. Considering the Pirates have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tatum Tyndell spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Abigail Dial was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyson Dodson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Bowie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.

Bowie is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for McLeod, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bowie is set to face off against their familiar foe Detroit at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, McLeod will challenge rival Harts Bluff at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
