Nottoway gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 31-13 win over the Goochland Bulldogs. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 35-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Anton Carter Jr. went supernova, rushing for 157 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Another rusher making a difference was Daveon Pettis, who rushed for 67 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Nottoway was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goochland only rushed for 28 rushing yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nottoway is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Greensville County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Goochland, they will head out to take on Mechanicsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
