Baseball Game Preview: Ponderosa Mustangs vs. Denver East Angels

The Ponderosa Mustangs will face off against the Denver East Angels at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponderosa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Ponderosa didn't have quite enough to beat Arapahoe and fell 4-3.

Ponderosa got a good showing from Kyle Redman, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That one hit allowed gave Redman a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Isai Santaella made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Denver East came up short against Windsor two weeks ago, falling 12-2.

Griffin Guiietz was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Ponderosa's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Denver East, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything went Ponderosa's way against Denver East in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Ponderosa made off with a 16-4 victory. Does Ponderosa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Denver East turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
