Softball Recap: Bexley Gets the Win

Bexley took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Millersport, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lakers 8-6. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Zoe Lemon was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

Bexley's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Millersport, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Bexley will head out on the road to take on Worthington Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.33 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Millersport, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Berne Union at 5:15 p.m. The Rockets will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Lakers surely won't give up without a fight.
