Basketball Recap: McMinn Central Comes Up Short

McMinn Central came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors, falling 65-31. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christian Academy of Knoxville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lexi Hammock, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 15 points along with eight boards and five assists. Hammock is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Maddie Braden, who shot 64% from the field on her way to 21 points and four steals.

McMinn Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

McMinn Central has already played their next contest, a 42-35 victory against Farragut on the 25th. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-39 win against Maryville on the 25th.
