Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Marika Jarosinka-Hassa and Aylin Sanchez Lead Dodge City to Victory

Dodge City waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Meade Buffaloes. The Demons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Buffaloes, too.

Dodge City had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Leading Dodge City to victory were Aylin Sanchez and Marika Jarosinka-Hassa. Sanchez had 12 digs and three aces, while Jarosinka-Hassa had 12 assists and six digs. Those six digs gave Jarosinka-Hassa a new career-high.

Dodge City's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Meade, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

Dodge City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Liberal on the 25th. As for Meade, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Colby on the 20th.
