Volleyball Recap: Arvada West Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Columbine last Tuesday, Arvada West came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell just short of the Dakota Ridge Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Arvada West sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 25-27, 15-13.

When it comes to explaining why Arvada West lost, don't look at Addie Allen. Despite the final result, she had 31 digs and five assists. Allen has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Arvada West has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Dakota Ridge, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Arvada West didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Golden on the 16th. As for Dakota Ridge, they will challenge Ralston Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
