Baseball Game Preview: Kearns Cougars vs. Roy Royals

For the second straight game, Kearns will face off against Roy. The Cougars will take on the Royals in a tournament on Saturday.

Kearns heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Friday. They lost 12-6 to Roy.

For Roy's part, Parker Skidmore made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Skidmore was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one run and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Julian Teran was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Cache Summers was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Roy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-15. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Kearns, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.
