Softball Recap: Washington Extends Winning Streak to Four

Washington hadn't done well against Metamora recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Redbirds 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Washington pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Metamora, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6.

Washington and Metamora should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Panthers will take on Pekin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (6 vs. 132). Meanwhile, Metamora (ranked 13th) will meet Morton (ranked 314th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
