Football Recap: Dymally Challengers vs. Taft Toreadors
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Dymally can now relate to. They took a blow against the Taft Toreadors on Friday, falling 48-6. The Challengers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Toreadors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.
Taft's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ledgend Wilson led the charge by rushing for 90 yards and three touchdowns. Those 90 rushing yards gave Wilson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Simms, who rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Dymally dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Taft, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-8.
Dymally does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Taft, they will challenge Van Nuys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 860 yards in their previous games.
