Baseball Recap: Arvada West's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to 14

Arvada West had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Highlands Ranch Falcons on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Cooper Vais was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Levi Lueck, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Luke Alonso was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

The victory was the 14th in a row for Arvada West, bringing their record up to 21-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Highlands Ranch, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-14.
