It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Beecher had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the Carterville Lions by a score of 5-2. Winning may never get old, but the Bobcats sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Ava Lorenzatti made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Tayiah Scanlan was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
Beecher's record now sits at 37-2. As for Carterville, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 29-5 record.
As of now, neither Beecher nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
