Basketball Game Preview: Plainfield East Bengals vs. Plainfield Central Wildcats

The Plainfield East Bengals will face off against the Plainfield Central Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Plainfield East was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to Minooka. The Bengals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Plainfield Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plainfield North. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 608th, while the Tigers are ranked 188th).

Plainfield East's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Plainfield Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-22.

Plainfield East took their victory against Plainfield Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 56-31. Will Plainfield East repeat their success, or does Plainfield Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
