Volleyball Recap: Jonesboro Starts Season with Loss at Home

Jonesboro unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Landmark Christian War Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the War Eagles when the teams met back in August of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jonesboro started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-21, 15-10.

The win got Landmark Christian back to even at 1-1.

Jonesboro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Dutchtown on the 9th. As for Landmark Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Elite Scholars Academy on the 9th.
