Basketball Recap: O'connor Starts off Right with Win over Hamilton

O'Connor took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Hamilton Huskies with a sharp 77-53 victory. The score was close at halftime, but the Eagles pulled away in the second half with 41 points.

O'Connor was led to victory by Audrey Bhesania and Ava Schooler. Bhesania dropped a double-double with 31 points and 11 rebounds, while Schooler went 8-for-19 en route to 22 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Those 31 points gave Bhesania a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Davis, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 10 points.

Coming up, O'Connor will square off against Ontario Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hamilton, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Red Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on December 9.
