Basketball Recap: Lackey Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lackey can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 79-32 loss at the hands of the Douglass Eagles. The Chargers just can't catch a break and have now endured 11 losses in a row.

Douglass found their leader in freshman Naiy'Lah Crutchfield, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and ten boards. Crutchfield is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Khloe Thomas, who shot 88% from the field on her way to 17 points and three steals.

Lackey's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Douglass, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

While Lackey had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Friday.
