Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Menaul). They secured a 59-55 W over the Bosque Bobcats on Saturday. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bobcats, too.
Menaul got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Karlea Apodaca out in front who went 7-for-17 en route to 21 points and eight rebounds. Apodaca is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Coral Apodaca was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine boards.
Menaul smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.
Despite the loss, Bosque had strong showings from Ainsley Capps, who went 13-for-18 on her way to 34 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds, and Cheyenne Anderson, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 18 boards.
